Design Features

BST Symbol is a geometric sans serif emphasising simplified geometric forms and elementary design principles. With minimal tapering at the junctures and nominal optical corrections, BST Symbol features an idiosyncratic behaviour as it interpolates through the weights from Thin to Bold that see the bowl and stem connections almost fill into black. It also includes multiple stylistic sets, including ‘Space’ characters and stemless forms, allowing for unique typographic opportunities.

Information

BST Symbol is a geometric sans serif that embodies a minimalist aesthetic with a distinct personality. It draws inspiration from DIN style typefaces and early Bauhaus designs, emphasising simplified geometric forms and elementary design principles. With minimal tapering at the junctures and nominal optical corrections, BST Symbol features an idiosyncratic behaviour as it interpolates through the weights from Thin to Bold that see the bowl and stem connections almost fill into black. This results in an intentionally basic design that retains its soul. Perfect for display settings and text, BST Symbol comes in seven weights, ranging from Thin to Bold. It also includes multiple stylistic sets, including ‘Space’ characters and stemless forms allowing for unique typographic opportunities. Future cuts, including a monospace and an ultra-heavy cut of the typeface, are currently in development.
